Olathe Public Library Notary Service
The Olathe Public Library offers notary services at both libraries by appointment only. Please keep the following guidelines in mind.
- There is no cost to use the library’s notary service.
- The notary is not authorized to notarize wills, trusts, power of attorney, passport or visa-related documents. In addition, Kansas law prohibits notaries from notarizing copies of birth, death or marriage certificates.
- The notary will ask to see a picture ID to verify identity.
- The signer must appear in person at the time of the notarization and will be asked to sign in the presence of the notary. The notary is responsible for witnessing the signature and verifying the identity of the signer.
- Please allow notaries up to 48 hours to respond to you with an appointment time. If you have limited days/times that you indicate you are available, it might take longer for a notary with the same availability to respond.
Please note: The library's notaries are not attorneys licensed to practice law in Kansas. They are not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration, or charge a fee for those activities.
If you would like to make an appointment to have something notarized at the Downtown Library (260 E. Santa Fe. St.) or the Indian Creek Library (16100 W. 135th Street), please completely fill out the form below.
