The Brother Scan N Cut SDX-225 can draw or cut out shapes from materials such as paper, vinyl, or fabric. Shapes can be customer designed or chosen from a library, or you can scan a design outline and then cut out that outline.

The Lab at Indian Creek has:

The Brother ScanNCut may be reserved for a maximum of two hours per session. Limit one reservation per day.
Do you have materials available in the Makerspace to use on the Brother ScanNCut?
The Lab has card stock, vinyl, and heat transfer that may be purchased. Click on the link to the price guide in the right column to see specific prices.
You may bring your own materials.
What type of file do I need to save my project so the ScanNCut can cut?
The Brother ScanNCut acceptable file types are FCM and SVG.
Do you have software in the Makerspace I can use to create a design?
Corel Technical Suite 2020, which includes CorelDraw is available for use to create SVG files.
What other software can I use to create projects for the Brother ScanNCut?
Brother has a free online program called CanvasWorkspace. Create a free account and have access to your files from any computer with Internet.
Can you help me design my project?
Staff is available to get you started, but the Makerspace is a DIY area providing the tools and equipment for you to use and experiment.
